About Jaime Soto - Principal

Welcome to Kyrene del Norte, a Dual-Language Academy. When you drop off your children in the morning at Norte, be prepared to say ‘Buenos Dias’ as you greet and meet with staff, friends, and families.

I am humbled and honored to serve as the Principal for the Norte school community. My experience as an educator has been as a high school Spanish teacher, elementary bilingual teacher, middle school Spanish/ESL teacher, English Language Learner Specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal. I am fortunate to have had a variety of experiences in school districts in Phoenix, Tempe and Cambridge, MA before coming to the Kyrene family.

I am a native of Nogales, AZ and grew up in a bilingual Spanish-speaking community. I am the youngest of a family of five, two brothers and two sisters. My wife and I are raising our three children in Tempe. I attended Arizona State University where I obtained a Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Spanish Literature. Go Devils!

I know the 2020-21 school year is going to be amazing! Working alongside a dedicated and committed staff and parents to best serve the learning needs of all Norte students. It is my greatest joy to know that I will have an impact in preparing our students with an equitable and quality education.
